Mt Hotham Back Country Sled Tour
This tour is unique to Australia and offers the snowgoer a scenic ride through the back country of Mt Hotham with sweeping views of the Dargo Valley, Swindlers Valley, Mt Feathertop and the Bogong High Plains (tour dependant).
What is it?
A custom designed snowmobile sled accommodates 4 people (ages 5+) pulled behind a large Wide/Long Tracked Snowmobile.
We have a range of different trips and pickup locations do vary.

Short 10 Minute Back Country Sled Tours
Leave from SnowStuffPark and head up to the Dargo Loop or Possum Flat for photos and then back to the Park ($90 total up to 4 people)
30 Minute Back Country Sled Tour - 2 people
Leave from SnowStuffPark and head up through Slatey cutting with view of the Orchard and Dargo Valley. Continue up through to Davenport Village past the ski lodges and we turn around at the General and head back to the park, once at the park we head out towards the Dargo lookout with a detour through to Whisky Flat amongst the gumtrees. Once at the Dargo lookout we pause for a few photos and head to possum loop. More photos at Possum loop lookout (on a clear day you can see Mt Buller!) and then its back to SnowStuffPark.
30 Minute Back Country Sled Tour - 4 people
Leave from SnowStuffPark and head up through Slatey cutting with view of the Orchard and Dargo Valley. 1.5 Hour Sunset Back Country Sled Tour
Leaves at 4.30pm. Follows same route as 30 Minute Back Country Sled Tour however your guide will stop along the way to get the best picture locations for you! We also stop at either the Dargo Loop Lookout or Possum Flat for a glass of sparkling and some local cheeses, crackers and salami’s. Soft Drinks and Water supplied for the non drinkers and people under 18. On selected trips we may even drop in to the see the folks from the Alpine Nature Experience and have a glass of Gluhwein (warm spiced red wine) with them!
Half Day Derricks Hut Back Country Sled Tour including lunch
Due to COVID19 restrictions we are unable to offer half day tours.
When do you run them?
Trips are run daily in the snow season subject to snow and weather. Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment. Some trips have definitive times (see above) whilst others can be variable. Please note all trips are subject to weather and snow conditions, in particular the Derricks Hut Trip as we are in a very exposed area. This trip will have final confirmation on the morning of booking.

Terms & Conditions
Tours operate subject to weather and snow conditions, advance bookings can be made but will be confirmed an hour prior to ensure suitability. Full refunds will be made available for cancelled tours. Seat belts must be worn at all times on sled. Patrons must not stand up whilst sled is moving. Patrons must keep legs and arms within the confines of the sled whilst moving. Operator reserves the right to cancel trip at anytime with no refunds should any safety measures be broken by the patron. Minimum of 2 Adults required for tour to run.
